WhiteTone Face Powder-Review

WhiteTone Face Powder-Review

Hello everyone,
I will be reviewing White tone face powder with Soft shade formula. The TV commercial caught my eye. Though I am not much into fairness thing, I expected this powder to make my skin glow without making me look like “just-out-of-a-scary movie”.
whitetone face powder 1
The weird thing about this face powder is that it comes with no applicator. You have to use your hand, hanky or carry your own applicator to use it.
Product Description:

White Tone Face Powder with Soft Shade Formula,Face Powder for skin
Ingredients:
Titanium Di Oxide, Alumina, Talc, Mica, Perfume Magnesium Stearate, Calcium Carbonate, Aluminium Starch Octenylsuccanate, Dimethicone/ vinyl dimethicone Cross Polymer and Silica
Price:
100INR for 70 gm pack
Packaging:
whitetone face powder 2
It comes in a cute, pink, plastic jar.

My experience with WhiteTone face powder:

White Tone Face Powder comes in a very bubbly plastic jar. The color of the jar is very feminine and it will appeal to ladies of all age groups, especially those in their teens. I liked the floral fragrance of the powder. But somehow this product couldn’t live up to my expectation. I don’t know what the company meant by “Soft shade formula”, but this powder is not perfect for dusky skin tone. My complexion is a very inconsistent one. At times I appear very dark and at times my skin appears lighter. This powder also performs accordingly. I end up looking ashy sometimes and at times it looks just okay.
As you can see from the swatch, the powder leaves a white cast on my hand. My hand is darker than my face and it can be clearly noticed that the powder settles into any fine lines on my hand. Very little amount of powder is required. Taking more amount of powder will only make you look scary. But I feel this powder is a boon for those who are fair. My mother is very fair and it looks perfect on her and makes her flaws seem less noticeable.

I never dare to dab it on my whole face. It makes me look like someone set to do a mime show. I usually put my sunscreen and calamine and sprinkle some of this powder on my T-zone which gets oily. The 70gm pack seems never-ending. I don’t like using the same product for a long time. I wonder why I bought the 70gm pack. The 30gm pack is much cuter. But again, even that will last a long time I feel. Fair-skinned beauties will love this powder. It is mattifying and minimizes the appearance of minor flaws. I have started using it as body talc due to the lovely scent. It smells like a loose face powder that Pond’s had launched few years back in a white tub. I cannot recollect the name. Those who had used it and miss it will find this product helpful.
The face does not feel heavy after applying the product. I use it to set my make-up. It makes my make-up last long when I have to attend a day long function.  It gets tough to use this powder on-the-go because it comes with no applicator and you’ll have to carry this jar and applicator separately.  This powder is not right for touch-ups.

Clean and Clear Face Wash Review

Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash for Acne and Pimples.

This CLEAN & CLEAR Face Wash from Johnson & Johnson, is my favorite facial cleanser when it comes to treating of acne and pimples. I am a very regular user of this. I keep trying and using face cleansers of so many different brands from all over but always return to this Clean and Clear Foaming Face Wash whenever I face acne pimples problem in extreme or even in moderation at times, since I trust this so much when it comes to removal of acne and pimples. I remember I was a regular loyal user of this in my teenage when I had tons of acne and big painful pimples which got reduced overtime with the help of this facial foam and many other changes including changes in diet, living etc. Then I started using other cleansers from different brands when I didn't really faced this pimple problem so frequently. I even used it in other variants like Clean & Clear Morning Energy Face Wash but did not liked it much like this one. Using it for years, I can truly say this from my experience, that it is one of the best face wash for ACNE PRONE SENSITIVE SKIN. Even now I use it to treat my acne if any. In the last few days I had a really problematic skin full of acne, zits and few other problems like itching, redness because of rains and infection on wet skin by rubbing. This was when I bought this Johnson & Johnson Facial Foam and here is the review on it.

Clean and Clear Face Wash Review

This Clean and Clear face wash is quite popular among al,l specially teenagers and everyone is quite aware of the looks and packaging of this. It comes in a nice simple transparent bottle with a flip top and is available in many different sizes and this is what I like the most about this cleanser. The biggest one is available with a pump dispenser adding to the usage convenience a little more. The pump one was not available at that medical shop, so I bought this one and got 50% extra. The face wash is of the perfect consistency neither thick nor thin, very light on use does not give greasy sticky feeling at all and is light brown in color.

Clean & Clear Oil Free Facial Foam
Clean & Clear Face Wash Review

Home Remedies to get rid of Acne & Pimples Quickly.

Just a small drop of this cleanser is required since it really foams very well with a drop of it and cleansing ability of this is above average. I just take smallest drop of this and rub it on my wet skin all over and it foams above average in a second. I rub it for about a minute and then rinse with cold water and result is extra clean skin without any residues of oil or dirt. I feel great reduction in my acne and pimples in just about 2-3 days on using it regularly twice a day. The best part is that it does not even dry or cause any other reactions on my sensitive acne prone skin. This is the reason I come back to this facewash again and again that along with treating acne, it also takes care of the skin condition without making it dry causing adverse harful reactions. What adds to the beauty is follow up with the Clean & Clear Oil Free Moisturizer after this cleanser. Thats it, all beauty regime done for acne prone sensitive skin with just these two products.

Overall I feel this face wash is truly one of the best facial cleansers for acne prone sensitive skin since it actually reduces acne on using regularly without causing any adverse skin conditions. Howver overusing this on dry skin might make the skin more drier, so using oil free moisturizer after this is a total must. I have used other variants of this like Morning Energy Lemon, Berry, Apple but didn't really like them too much and always come back to this original one.

Clean and Clear Face Wash Cons
Might be little drying for dry skin.

Maybelline Diamond Glow by Eyestudio
I know these have been around for a long time now but I had given away my heart to this quad the day Rati had shared the swatches with us of all the five shades from the range, the grey, copper, lilac, blue and wine too I believe. All of them looked so unsuitable for Indian skin and I did pick up a wrong one from them called gray pink already reviewed. But I was determined to buy this one for a more natural neutral wear and hence more used up as quad with hardly any eyeshadow in there. I think I would be able to finish it off for a change ðŸ˜›
maybelline eyestudio quad copper brown
I must say I was not so thrilled to buy it. I don’t know what it was that attracted me to these considering they are coppery but I mistook them for some neutral wear soft browns with pearl finish. The shadows are all pearly and metallic, with one of them with shimmer and the darkest shade with some soft gold shimmer.
The shadow quad was priced at Rs 375 when released and now has been hiked up to 450! I was aghast to know that and I hate price hikes in cosmetics considering I am already shocked every week by the grocery items prices hike, where peanut butter is now thrice of what it costed when released!

maybelline eyestudio quad copper brown
I can’t say whether I am a fan of quads or of single shadows but I would say the quads are more helpful for me to get ready faster than trying to looks for two or three shades in my stash. I like the quad, the sturdy packing, nice dual ended applicator of sponge which will wither away soon I know, the shiny transparent glass packing
The shades are light enough for daily use, the lightest for browbone, the second one is very light for inner corner, the third one for all over lid and the last one for crease.
What I don’t like about the shade is that they feel very powder based, as in all shades feel white+some shade, not so concentrated, the shades feel soft and average pigmented but still not so heavy. These feel very light and I think these could have don’t better in the texture department.
I do need a base for them since they are so soft and light, these would last for three to four hours in my opinion with base considering how light they are they are bound to be ruined by oily lids. All the shades feel very light colored and even the darkest one in brown has to be packed on.

There is no fall out because they feel very light textured. The shimmer is very light in the shades that have them. They do feel velvety but you need a lot of the shadow to show up and hence I think the quantity is also not so great on these.

Last word: I am not happy with the price hike to 450 rupees for these. These are very soft and light and little whitish and the pigment is not concentrated enough to cost me 450 rupees. The shades are not so suited to us and this is the only quad which is of some use to olive skin. A nice copper quad otherwise where one shade can also be used for regular wear. Overall, if you have don’t have some other copper quad in mind, you may try it

My take on “Vaseline Total Moisture Cocoa Glow Body Lotion”
I have a very dry skin, so before trying out Vaseline Cocoa Glow whatever lotion I used to apply faded away in a few hours. My skin used to itch and look scaly as if I have not applied any lotion. In fact few body lotions are too oily that they get easily transferred to the clothes that make the clothes stink. Have you ever experienced this mixed fragrance: perfume plus body lotion ? yuk.

My cousin advised me to start using Vaseline Total Moisture Cocoa. She told me about the many benefits of cocoa and immediately I decided to give it a chance. One of the most sought after benefits of cocoa is that it helps in reducing stretch marks. With Vaseline cocoa glow’s regular use the stretch marks are almost gone.

Vaseline cocoa glow body lotion comes in a flip open tube. The body lotion is little off white in colour and has a yummy chocolaty fragrance. This body lotion penetrates deep inside the first layer of the skin i.e. stratum coruneum and makes it look hydrated. I use it regularly after bath and apply it firmly all over the body. There is no fear of sticking or stinking as it is oil free and has a beautiful chocolate fragrance. This body lotion glides easily on to the skin and does not require any extra effort in spreading.
As I have already mentioned that usually my skin becomes scaly and starts itching, sometimes the dryness reaches to an extent where I feel that my skin is tearing out. For the first time I used this body lotion my skin felt a drastic change. It felt soft and all the dryness was gone – such a big relief  . My skin now looks healthy and shines out of happiness.

lakme compact
My take on Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Compact with SPF 23:

I have always been comfortable with Lakme when it comes to compact although there are better alternatives available. I have a combination skin which tends to break out and hence I prefer products which are light on my face and which don’t clog my pores. Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Compact with SPF 23 is a perfect compact for my skin. It is perfect for everyday use as it doesn’t give cakey looking appearance. It is light and blends well with the skin. As always, no product can be perfect to the core. This compact does not work that well in giving a pearly glow or doesn’t lighten the skin tone as Lakme claims. It does give a superficial appearance of fairer skin but that doesn’t last for longer duration. It gives a matte finish and helps to control oil throughout the day with repetitive application. It has SPF 23 which makes it comes back in the lead. So, even if you forget to apply your sunscreen (which you shouldn’t), you can just apply this compact and let the SPF in it do its work. All in all, it is a good compact for daily use and does add a few tones of whiteness to the complexion which is temporary.

Pros of Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Compact with SPF 23:
Cons of Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Compact with SPF 23:
  • Does not give a pearly glow as the product claims but the whitening is rather superficial.
  • Whiteness or fairer tone achieved by applying this compact does not last longer.
